About The Show
Edinburgh is home to countless traditional folk musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers who keep the country’s rich artistic heritage alive; many of the best are within the pool of Spirit of Scotland performers who entertain our audiences every night of the week from April to October.
Together with a taste of Scottish fare, and memorabilia for purchase at the end of the evening, this is an experience in which many happy visitors to Edinburgh have delighted – whether for the connection they feel to the living and breathing culture of their ancestry, or just for its sheer multi-sensory joy.

About the Team
Philip Henderson
Philip has been at the core of The Spirit of Scotland Show since its humble beginnings. With his involvement initially being – as it often continues to be – as a singer and guitarist, his role has evolved to make a virtue of his invaluable experience at the heart of civic duty in the City of Edinburgh. Having worked closely alongside the mayors (‘Lord Provosts’) of Edinburgh for almost 30 years, performing a ceremonial role that has welcomed the world’s royals, humanitarian icons, politicians and more to the city, there is nobody better equipped to coordinate this entire operation on-the-ground.
Kirsty MacDonald
After gaining a BA (Hons) in Dance and Drama, Kirsty has gone from strength to strength contributing her talents and knowledge to ensure the high standards of dancers at the Spirit of Scotland Show. Since joining as a dancer 10 years ago, her ideas and involvement have also led her to showcase her talents in front of house and management of the show in the summer seasons and beyond. Kirsty’s all-round abilities are proving valuable in presenting the Spirit of Scotland Show in the years ahead. Her obvious love of participating in the show and meeting people is all too evident. Kirsty loves working with our team of adult and wee dancers and is an asset to our show.
